“Cedar Hill has become THE place our youth looks forward to each year. With their busy schedules this is the first date we put on the calendar and they all plan around it. Thank you for making it ca
“The Catholic Newman Association from Framingham State College took over the Cedar Hill Retreat Center for the annual spring retreat. It’s been real. The house is a great resource; it’s really spacious and there are plenty of amenities AND the beach is like a 2 minute walk!!!”
“We brought our youth group to this wonderful place. We had a great stay—went to Boston for 2 days and Concord for a day. We had a great time on the beach, rescued 2 horseshoe crabs, made friends with hermit crabs and by crabs, and created small water cities. The weather was a bit dreary but didn’t stop our fun. Thanks for the people who maintain this beautiful home. Our stay was wonderful!”
“This was our first time back since a family reunion ten years ago and it was great to see the property and house so well taken care of. We had beautiful weather, lovely time on the beach and a great opportunity to visit our favorite local spots.”
“After many years of meeting in NH on Lake Winnisquam, we have discovered Cedar Hill. The house was perfect and we had a wonderful dinner all seated in the dining room. Plenty of beds and room for all. The beach couldn’t be a better spot and the weather was wonderful. Next year, (kayaks)!”
15th year of family reunions at Cedar Hill—always a great time. We love the renovated house—porch is AWESOME! Every year we come we grow closer as an extended family.”
“(We) were married here at the beach on (our) 20th Anniversary, with about 50 friends and family members from around the US and Canada. Cedar Hill was perfect for this special day. Twenty of our guests stayed here with us for several days of great MA hospitality. Laura was a fabulous hostess!”
On the first day, it was a little rainy and cold, so we stayed indoors mostly, and on the second day we took full advantage of the sun and went outdoors. Thank you to all those who prepared the house for us. It’s such a great place and we will most definitely be looking into this fantastic resource for next year’s retreat.”
“We’ve been here lots of times and this was one more great visit. Rainy day cozy jammies, playing games, gathering round the chalice talking about generosity, candles, dancing in the flashlight strobe, cooking and cleaning together, sharing our talents. That’s what we do on a retreat. Liking the renovations especially the little bathrooms and the new sheets and towels. Labyrinth was lovely and beach walking in the rain.”
“Exploring our personal credos and moving toward collective consciousness of the gifts of collegial relationships—we appreciated the shore, the trail, the beautiful weather, and the excellent accommodations!
Thanks to Chris, Terry and Laura for all their cooperation in making this possible for us!”
“This weekend we gathered here to discuss the importance of intimate relationships and family life. We shared our own experiences in relationships and gave advice to the teens of our meeting about marriage and sexual relationships.
We discussed the need to be stable and knowing yourself before making the commitment to share your life with someone you love. This was discussed in a large group and the children/teens came together and talked about it as well.
This house was an amazing place to have our retreat. We have come here for the past 10 years or so and this year the house has been much improved. It is overall much more comfortable.”
“After our many happy years at Blairhaven just down the beach, we were hoping to find another comfortable, well situated place to host our family reunions. I am happy to say that the Cedar Hill Retreat Center both met and exceeded our expectations.
The wonderful eclectic collection of books brought many happy surprises; old friends, new acquaintances, and a growing list of others to read later. The beach was very private and the meditation labyrinth was used by everyone. Our family come from Delaware, Illinois and Western Massachusetts, and others want to join us for future visits. We all had a lovely time and look forward to doing it again soon.”
